At J.Fox Soul we have over 10 years experience in the art of recording music, and producing video and film projects. Our Head Producer, James Higgins, has been involved in hundreds of productions as a songwriter, arranger, performer, producer, engineer, director, video editor, post-production and special effects designer, sound designer, marketing designer, web designer and much more.

Studio Recording Production

Whether you are a solo singer, or a duo, band, or even an orchestra, we can tailor a production schedule and creative approach to guarantee your music will be captured and mixed to perfection – without blowing your budget!

We primarily operate out of our own facility Foxden Studio in Burleigh Heads, but we also have access to one of the region’s leading large recording facilities, Luna Studio in Varsity Lakes. It doesn’t matter what size your band or project is, we can take care of you and make your project ready for release quickly, efficiently and affordably.

Live Show Multi-Track Recording

Got a big gig coming up that could be your next live album? Need a really high-quality promotional video of your band playing live? Whatever the details, J.Fox Soul has the equipment and expertise required to capture a high definition multi-track recording of your show. We will edit, add any required overdubs with you, and then mix and master the show with the utmost attention to detail. Our live recordings are known to come out clearer, cleaner and with more impact than you would imagine possible!

It gets even better – we can also make a video to go with it! We have teamed up with some of the best cinematographers in the region to produce Blu-Ray Disc quality HD multi-camera videos of live music shows. Here’s an example of our work. This is Soul Continuum performing live at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. We had 4 cameras, 12 performers on stage and 32 channels of audio to compile into this live DVD:

Film & Video Production

The team at J.Fox Soul have worked on countless short films, feature films, TV commercials and online marketing video projects. We’ve moved through all the changes in technology from 16mm film to standard definition digital video, to HDV, and now onto RedRaw format (cinema projection quality 4k raw footage). Working with the best cinematographers around, with access to the best cinema camera currently on the market (the Red camera), and using the latest versions of Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects, Motion and many other animation and rendering softwares, we are ready to take on your video project and make it the best it can be.
Here’s an example of a music video edited by J.Fox Soul from footage taken on 5 different cameras over 3 years, and in 4 different countries. Each camera shot in a different format, so the tricky part of the job was creating continuity in the look and feel of the shots. This video took only a day to edit. The music was also produced by J.Fox Soul in our own Foxden Studio.

This is a trailer made by our Director James Higgins for his first ever short film, which he wrote, produced and directed back in University around 2007. It was shot in 4 days and edited entirely by James alone, including all 2D and 3D animation. A total experiment in digital film making, it was Higgins’ first foray into the art of film, now here for your entertainment!

What does all this cost?

You might be wondering why there are no rates on this website. This is because we believe in being flexible in our pricing to suit the demands of each production. In truth, no two projects are alike so to charge a fixed rate would defeat the purpose of having such a broad and diverse range of services to offer.

The best thing you can do is give us a call or shoot us an email and let us know the details of your project. The more you can tell us the more accurately we can quote you, and then we just need to get started!
